HND Fine Art/First Year/Mark Making Video's/ Part.2

(October)
These are my first few videos I filmed of myself moving the projector around the composition. You can see how the different angles of the light move the shadows around creating movement to a still piece. These were my first videos so the positioning of the video recorder is not accurate. However it has given me a good starting point of how to improve. I am enjoying working in a non-traditional way, as I am usually a very traditional media based artist. With this project I want to try and push my ideas to a higher level even if it means coming out of my comfort zone.
This is footage I filmed of my work, were I wanted to act out a ''drawing'' motion with my recorder. I moved around using flowing movements following the lines and shadows. I filmed this close so the composition filled the space. I edited this photo so it became slower, which really created a sense of movement.
I edited the brightness and contrast in this footage to get a denser contrast between the light and dark space. Editing this allowed the brightness of the torch to look really focased on the section of the composition it was aimed at, giving the line and shadow a more sharpened appearance. I wanted to experiement with adding different effects to my footage to see what the outcomes would be. Also, I can use this footage to find interesting compositions I may want to draw or push forward in the future.
I slowed this video down so you can see the exaggerated movement of the projector. I am thinking maybe in the future I can try a torch so the light is more dense and concentrated.
This is one of my favorite videos so far. With this video I edited so it created a mirrored effect. I love this effect because of the movement it creates in the piece it is very unusual.
I used a similar effect in this video, however I changed the positive and negative space. Again this creates a interesting composition. (This video is not very long so I would extend it). However I love how unusual the outcomes are.
With help off a friend we created a heartbeat like movement using a piece of wool over the projector. Instead of moving the light to create the movement, we used wool experimenting with different ways of creating movement.
